For every order made, we match one item. The matched items are then put into a Gratitude Box. Once the box is filled with these matched orders, we hand-deliver it to someone local whom we are grateful for! The more orders...  the more gratitude boxes! See our recipients below!

The recipient of this week’s Preserve House Bakery “Gratitude Box” is “Family Veterinary Hospital of Stone Ridge.” We crossed community borders with this box, but they have continued to care for our dog, Chessie, since we moved to Lovettsville two years ago. Dr. Hendrickson and her staff have been caring for Chessie since he was a puppy. A few weeks ago, Chessie went for his yearly checkup, and we were overwhelmed with gratitude for all the love, kindness, knowledge, and care. My husband and I have not been able to have children, but Chessie, our fur baby, has made our family feel complete. He is our everything. Thank you, Dr. Hendrickson, and all the other veterinarians in the neighboring areas who take care of these precious family members. We are so grateful!

This week’s 🙏Gratitude Box recipients are the members of the 💙Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. 💙We are deeply grateful for all that you do for us… especially keeping our county safe! You serve with honor, courage, and commitment. Thank you, personally, to an officer who had assisted in picking up and transporting a mentally ill family member to the hospital. Your kindness and care are never forgotten.

I have had the privilege of wearing a military uniform and thus feel a bond, in a way, with the men and women in blue. Like the military, police take an oath and pledge to support and defend the US and the Constitution, and to protect the rights of our people with integrity and responsibility. When these officers raise their hands, they know the great sacrifice: that they will give their lives to defend others. There is no greater gift. They are men and women in the arena.

Whether you agree with the arena they are in or not, we all must remember that they are given an order and must follow it. Their faces are marred with sweat, dust, and blood… they strive valiantly. It is not the critic who counts…. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are in our prayers always.
